A Father's Wisdom: Life Lessons for My Children (2014-2016)
My heart overflows with joy! 2014 brought the blessing of my son, and 2016 welcomed my beautiful daughter into the world. Words can't express how proud and happy I am to be your father. More than any material possession, I want to leave you with something far more valuable: wisdom.
While I hope to share some investment principles with you, remember the greatest gift of all comes from God and Jesus Christ. It is through Him that your mother, I, and you have the promise of eternal life. Never forget Him, for generations to come.
Understanding Money: A Tool, Not a Measure of Worth
Money itself isn't evil. It's a tool, originally designed to facilitate the exchange of goods and services. Unfortunately, over time, its purpose has become distorted. Today, people often equate wealth with worth, measuring a person's value by their financial resources.
While money isn't the most important thing in life, it's undeniably essential in our modern world. It provides access to food, education, and even safety. I want you to understand its true value and learn how to manage it wisely.
The Greatest Inheritance: The Ability to Earn
I know that whatever material wealth I leave you will eventually be depleted if you don't know how to earn it yourselves. And the same goes for your children. The most valuable inheritance I can give you is the knowledge and skills to create your own wealth. This is a lesson the Jewish community understands well: what's in your mind is yours, and no one can take it away.
Embracing Challenges: Opportunities for Growth
Life isn't always fair. Some people inherit fortunes, while others have less. But God is fair in one crucial way: He gives everyone the same amount of time. And everyone, regardless of their background, has to learn and grow. If you face difficulties, don't despair. You have the time and the power to overcome them.
Think of Singapore's water scarcity. Instead of complaining, we innovated and created NEWater. Challenges are opportunities in disguise. They give you a target to aim for. Don't waste time complaining; focus on finding solutions and working hard to achieve them.
Investment: Knowledge and Action
Investment can be learned, but knowledge without action is useless. You can't just sit back and expect results. You have to take initiative.
Passing on the Torch
I want to teach you the true meaning of investment so that you can understand it deeply and adapt it to your own circumstances. The information I'm sharing today might even be outdated by the time you're older. The world is constantly changing, and you need to be able to think critically and make your own informed decisions. My goal is to equip you with the tools you need to navigate the future successfully.
